FIGURAL SERIES

In Figural Series, artist Gonzalo Adrian Battaglia creates semi-realistic, anatomically correct characters with rudimentary faces and limited facial expressions engaged in various activities. They are usually shown nude and inhabiting strange and timeless worlds of villages, small towns, and rural landscapes. Sometimes, however, the backgrounds are left empty, allowing the viewer to imagine the figures in an environment of their own creation.
